1. HOW TO MAKE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE UNCLICKABLE
We
all restrict the audience of photos/ albums we share, the default
privacy settings of profile picture is ‘public’ and hence can be viewed/
saved by anyone. To tide over the problem, you have to change the
setting as below:-
- Go to your own profile by clicking your name.
- Go to photos tab.
- Go to Albums
- Select profile picture album.
- Click your profile photo and click edit.
- In the privacy setting click only me.
- Click done editing and now your profile picture is unclickable.
2. HIDE YOUR ‘ONLINE’ STATUS ON FACEBOOK CHAT
When
FB Chat was integrated with Facebook, it became difficult to hide our
online status from people. Only option earlier was to turnoff chat
completely. But recently, FB has added this feature by which you can hide your status from people you want. Here is how to do it.
- Click on settings and then advance settings.
- In
the advance setting you get two important options i.e. hide chat from
some friends and turn on chat from selected friends. Choose as per your
requirement. And click save.
3. ALLOW PEOPLE TO FOLLOW YOU AND NOT FRIEND YOU
The
‘follow’ feature is one of the very less used feature of Facebook. The
difference between follow and friends is : When someone is your friends,
both of you follow each other and can see all posts. However, when you
follow someone , you can see only his public posts. Its very useful when
you want someone to see only few of your posts.
To allow public to follow you, go to settings and then followers. Change setting of who can follow you to Everybody and then anyone can follow you.
Now your profile has another option for public, i.e. follow apart from add friend.

4. STOP FOLLOWING SOMEONE RATHER THAN UN-FRIEND THEM
We
all have a friend who keeps posting irritating posts on Facebook and
social etiquette prevent us from telling him that his posts are bore.
Unfriend him on Facebook may affect our real life relations also.
Thankfully, Facebook has a way out, simply unfollow him before unfriend
him.
To
do this simply go to your friend’s profile and uncheck the ‘following
‘, and you are done, none of his posts will ever come to your timeline.

5. Bonus: Quick Facebook tips to live happily and less stupidly online:
- Restrict your Facebook audience. : never keep your ‘who can see my post’ to ‘public’; i suggest keep it only friends or at the most keep only ‘friends of friends”
- Don’t
argue: you don’t like a post, so what? ignore it. You can never win an
argument on Facebook, but it will make other person feel bad.
- Don’t
say anything stupid: so you feel strongly about any festival,
religions, person etc, but Don’t post anything stupid or negative. keep
your posts simple.
- Don’t
give more data to Facebook itself: Facebook has a bad habit of asking
too many questions, like whats your favorite band, whats my high-school,
etc. give me a break, even my friends don’t ask such things. so avoid giving too many information to Facebook itself.
- Don’t
befriend actual enemy: we avoid so many people in real life but
befriend him on Facebook. so avoid those people who you think could be
your enemy in family, social circle or office colleague.
